De-clogging Your Sink
Filed Under Home Care | Leave a Comment
Introduction
Skin, hair and oils flowing down the drain cause your sink to clog
When you observe slowing down of the sink, a de-cogging liquid can be used. Otherwise, you have to use a few tools.
Instructions
1. After opening the inlet which is under the sink, using a wrench, loosen the pipe connection rings holding the P trap. Turn the wrench in counterclockwise direction. Remove the trap by pulling it out and clean it. If you feel the sink is de-clogged, put it back and run hot water to check. Else continue.
2. Check the small extension pipe connected to the house wall. Remove it.
3. Take a drain auger cable and insert it in the plumbing opening. Force it in till you reach the clog.
4. By turning the handle on the auger, twist the cable into the clog. You have to continue the process till it the clog gets cleared.
5. Slowly take out the cable from the opening along with the clog and put it in a bucket.
