Introduction

Aluminum thresholds which are fixed at the base of the door frame are useful in preventing flow of air in or out of a room. This keeps your electricity and gas bills low by considerably reducing loss of hot or cool air. The threshold prevents entry of insects and other weather elements. Also, replacing aluminum thresholds is easier than replacing wooden ones.

Instructions

1. Open the door and take out the screws holding the threshold using a drill.

2. After removing the old threshold, any collected dirt and debris is swept out.

3. Take measurement of the old threshold.

4. With the help of a hacksaw, cut a new aluminum threshold to size. Make the edges smooth using a metal file.

5. Two or three holes are to be drilled in the center of the new threshold. You have to drill out holes in the wood door frame to match with the threshold holes.

6. Fix the new threshold in place once again by drilling into place with wood screws.

2. Check the small extension pipe connected to the house wall. Remove it.

3. Take a drain auger cable and insert it in the plumbing opening. Force it in till you reach the clog.

4. By turning the handle on the auger, twist the cable into the clog. You have to continue the process till it the clog gets cleared.

5. Slowly take out the cable from the opening along with the clog and put it in a bucket.
